Job Description

Excellent opportunity for solid "CPA Technician to get involved with challenging issues involving complex accounting transactions, policies, interpretations, pronouncements, etc.

Responsible for interpreting authoritative accounting guidance (GAAP) and documenting the Company’s application of such guidance.

This position will perform a combination of tasks which include the development, drafting, and updating of the Company’s accounting policies, position papers for transactions and ad-hoc technical accounting queries.

In addition, the role will assist the company’s implementation of new accounting pronouncements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Research technical accounting questions and provide prompt assistance/responses to internal customers

Draft position papers addressing the accounting for transactions and significant contracts, including financing arrangements

Interact with individuals throughout the company to understand fact patterns underlying various transactions and provide real-time feedback

Monitor new accounting pronouncements, implement new standards, and draft relevant disclosures of recently issued accounting pronouncements for SEC Filings (10-Ks and 10-Qs)

Participate in Commercial Development Quarterly Meeting, including preparation of agenda and monitoring progress

Qualifications:

Minimum of four years related work experience, including public and SEC accounting experience with a BIG 4/National Public Accounting Firm

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in active and good standing

An undergraduate business degree in Accounting. Advanced educational degrees (i.e. MBA) will be considered a plus

Knowledge and Skills:

Strong analytic and communication skills (both written and verbal) with experience in presenting ideas/concepts to all levels of management

Experience in performing technical accounting research and presenting findings to management

Experience in resolving technical accounting issues
