Senior Backend Software Developer

Direct Hire

$130-$150k/yr.

Summary

We are looking for highly skilled computer programmer who is comfortable with both front and backend programming.

You will be responsible for developing and designing new REST APIs, ensuring the responsiveness of applications, and upgrading and improving existing production applications, among other duties.

The successful candidate will be a key contributor in developing our next generation platform architecture and design supporting video on demand streaming video applications across all manner of OTT and mobile devices.

Being a part of a small and collaborative start up, the successful candidate will need to be a great communicator – with colleagues, customers, and users.

This person shall be able to articulate technology trade-offs and inform product roadmap decisions.

You will have immediate impact on our success with your terrific software skills and you will fire product delivery velocity and quality!

Qualifications

Write clean, tested, and extensible code

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, implement, and ship new features

Design and develop APIs

Evaluate and improve performance of the application

Contribute experience and knowledge during team discussions

Collaborate with other engineers as needed

Participate in code review and mentor junior engineers

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience

5+ years of Ruby/Rails experince

Experience designing or integrating with REST APIs

JavaScript or Vue.js experince

Strong grasp of programming fundamentals such as object-oriented programming, functional programming, TDD, DRY, refactoring

Self starter and can work with limited direction

Ability to collaborate and work well with others

The ability to deliver high quality and effective solutions while balancing deadlines
