Job Description

IT SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR

Santa Ana, CA

4+ month contract

ICS is hiring an IT Systems Administrator who will support the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the in-house information systems that support core organizational function for our Client.

This is a 4+ month contract position with the potential to extend or convert, depending upon performance.

What You'll Do:

Monitoring, maintaining, supporting, patching, and optimizing all networked software and associated operating systems

Apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve issues in order to maximize the benefit of IT systems investments

Guide and assist clients in defining client needs.

Resolve system problems to ensure customer processes run smoothly.

Document business processes, training procedures, standard operating procedures, project status, etc.

Implement system alignment with business processes

Additional tasks as required

Skills/Experience You'll Need:

Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field is preferred

MCSE preferred

7+ years of Systems Administration and support experience

Experience with the following:

Microsoft Windows

Software Packaging with SCCM

Storage (EMC/IBM/CISCO SAN infrastructure)

Client, Fujitsu, SUN Hardware, Hitachi

Ability to solve problems quickly and automate processes

A solid understanding of an operating system; understands paging and swapping, inter-process communications, devices and what device drivers do, file system concepts (inode, clustering, logical partitions), can use performance analysis to tune systems.

A solid understanding of networking/distributed computing environment concepts; understands principles of routing, client/server programming, the design of consistent network-wide file system layouts.

Strong interpersonal and communications skills; capable of writing proposals or papers, acting as a vendor liaison, making presentations to customers or client audiences or professional peers, and working closely with upper management.
