Job Description
NETWORK COMPLIANCE ENGINEER
A global financial organization is actively seeking a Network Compliance Engineer to join their local team. The Network Compliance Engineer will join a concentrated group of professionals focused on ensuring the global network is compliant with regulations, mitigate risks, and examine vulnerabilities. You will be integral is working on further advancing one of the largest financial networks with a wide variety of critical services as well as help drive large scale network engineering compliance initiatives both on premise and cloud. The ideal candidate must be able to multitask in a dynamic team-based environment demonstrating strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities and the highest degree of professionalism. Excellent communication skills are required as you will partner with the internal Cyber Security team and external regulators on a consistent basis.
Responsibilities
Become a Subject Matter Expert able to provide guidance to other engineers on network engineering compliance best practices
Facilitate collaboration between Information Security and Network Engineering to help enforce security requirements on the global network ecosystem at the organization
Conduct configuration assessment and issue guidelines on network system configurations to align with the relevant regulatory framework set by Information Security
Organize and update departmental documentation providing clear configuration templates for various network systems
Use efficient methods to produce regular reports communicating the status of the compliance level of network system configurations
Collaborate and work closely with all other IT teams
Maintain technical vendor relations to understand and influence technical product roadmaps
Assist with development of policies and procedures for maintaining network infrastructure
Follow operational policies/procedures and promote adherence to same

Requirements:
University degree in Engineering, MIS, CIS, or related discipline
2+ years working within a Network Engineer, Network Monitoring and/or Network Security role
Understanding of network management, security and monitoring
Experience with Federal Regulatory Compliance Standards
Experience analyzing vulnerability reports (CVEs)
Knowledge of NIST Cybersecurity Framework, DISA STIGs
Good programming skills for automation (Python preferred)
Knowledge in configuration management and scripting experience (Ansible, Python, etc.)
Experience assessing compliance state of cloud deployments (Azure or AWS etc.)
Knowledge of general network principles and technology and also how to apply them in a service oriented mission critical environment.
Breadth and understanding of current and future network technology direction.
Excellent writing and documentation skills
Excellent customer service attitude
Ability to operate effectively and professionally under pressure
F5, Checkpoint, or Palo Alto advanced certification is nice to have
