Job Description

IT PROJECT MANAGER

Richardson, TX

12+ month contract

We are hiring an IT Project Manager to own the Materials Master (MM) data domain and lead its related global data governance rules, standards and processes utilizing master data governance tools i.e. SAP MDG and Datum Information Value Management (IVM) to facilitate the creation, maintenance and retirement of master data across the global organization.

The IT Project Manager must have experience with production controls and/or materials management and large systems implementations.

What You’ll Do:

Gather, understand, and document enterprise data process requirements, functional requirements, and data quality requirements to establish trusted data sources and ensures the right controls are built around the flow of creation and maintenance of master data through the organization

Lead Enterprise Data Stewards and Business Process Owners toward best practice processes and techniques, while ensuring that proposed additions, changes, comply with established global data governance standards, rules and policies

Partner with Enterprise Data Stewards and/or Domain Data Specialists to capture and maintain a comprehensive global data dictionary and business glossary; along with developing and implementing global data standards, policies and procedures

Collaborate and communicate with Enterprise Data Stewards and/or Domain Data Specialists as and when required to mitigate or remediate issues relevant to master data

Develop integrated solutions and recommendations for critical processes in collaboration with the Enterprise Data Stewards and/or Domain Data Specialists to understand the impacts of changes within and across master data domains and impacts to downstream processes and transactions

Strive to obtain subject matter expertise by maintaining contact with key knowledge sources to promote agile, accurate, and high-quality data (material, customer, vendor data) through the enterprise data life cycle

Assumes project responsibilities as assigned for projects related to changes to master data and align the actions necessary to lead a project for creating new and/or updating existing process flows, data cleanup or enrichment

Create and maintain global and/or plant specific master data SOPs, work instructions etc. for continuous improvement of data governance standards and processes based upon leading practices, evolving industry trends, expanding operational capabilities etc.

Skills/Experience You’ll Need:

Minimum of Bachelors degree or international equivalent in related curriculum required.

Must have Bachelors degree with 5+ years of experience or Masters degree with 2+ years of experience.

Must have experience in business processes and technologies, production control/materials management, large systems implementation projects (ERP, Client, CRM) and project management.

Ability to provide ad-hoc training to Enterprise Data Stewards and other business function data owners on data management tools used in alignment with enterprise master data governance policies and procedures

SAP domain expertise preferred particularly subject matter expertise with material master data in multinational operating environment.

Experience with data management / ERP data management aspects from M&A activity (master data management from integration/divestiture activities) preferred.

Must have ability to lead cross-functional project teams and motivate individuals without formal authority.

Must have demonstrated leadership with ability to effectively interact and influence personnel of various levels and disciplines.

Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives with measurable results required.

Must have ability to identify and communicate key metrics and key performance indicators related to project activities to all levels of the organization.

Ability to analyze information and provide fact-based recommendations required.

Must be able to travel domestically
