APPLICATION ARCHITECT

Dallas, TX

The Position:

This is a contract to hire position for an Application Architect within our Client's Agile software engineering team.

The Application Architect will serve as the technical architect for the online design and layout editor project.

The project uses a proprietary web application suite using AngularJS, React, Python, JAVA, and MySQL.

It is both internal and external facing and is perhaps the single most important application in our Clients' company as end users and customers will spend more time in it than any other application.

We expect a strong emphasis to be placed on usability, simplicity of design, and performance.

This is a hands on architect role where architecture and design leadership is expected in designing new application and/or improving, maintaining and optimizing existing application and services.

The Application Architect will work closely with development team members, ScrumMaster, Product Owner and Director of Engineering in a fast and agile SCRUM environment.

Required Technical Expertise & Experience:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

10+ years of development experience (*nix) including:

5+ years of Python development

2+ years of Angular or React development

5+ years of JavaScript

3+ years of mentoring/team lead/architect position

SOA

Chef & Puppet knowledge is nice to have.

Restful API

Team leadership and architect skills required

Working knowledge of AWS Cloud services in IaaS, PaaS, SaaS and DaaS and upcoming trends in the Cloud space.

Strong experience in AngularJS and/or React, Python is a must

Experience in Java; PHP is nice to have

Experience architecting/operating solutions built on AWS Cloud platforms

Experience & knowledge of Automation & Orchestration, DevOps in a AWS cloud environment

Knowledge of auto-scaling and auto-healing technique for AWS.
